The Selection of Impact Modifier

The selection of PVC impact modifier should pay attention to the following aspects:

1. The compatibility with PVC resin should be moderate, if the compatibility is too large, the two are completely mixed at the molecular level, the impact modifier may play the role of aplasticizer, closely attached to the PVC molecule, and the impact force directly acts on the PVC chain, which can not improve the impact resistance. On the contrary, if the compatibility of the two is too small to reach uniform dispersion, the adhesion to PVC is lost, and the impact force cannot be absorbed.

2. The glass transition temperature should be low, which can improve the impact resistance of PVC at low temperatures.

3.  The molecular weight should be high, and it is best to mildly crosslink if necessary to improve the enhancement effect.

4.  It has no obvious effect on the performance and physical properties of PVC.

5.  The weather resistance should be good, and the mold expansion is small.

6.  Good blending process with PVC.

7.  Good heat resistance, good deformation resistance and good heat stability.

8.  Low cost and good economy.
